Dr. Gualberto Ruaño, (Medical Advisor)- M.D, PHD

Dr. Ruaño has been an innovator and entrepreneur in the biomedical industry and advocate of personalized medicine for 20 years. He obtained M.D. and Ph.D. degrees from Yale University and his B.A. degree from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Ruaño is President of Genomas, which he founded in 2003, and Director of Genetics Research at Hartford Hospital. Dr. Ruaño is assistant professor of psychiatry and assistant director for special projects at the Connecticut Convergence Institute for Translation in Regenerative Engineering at UConn Health. Priorly, Dr. Ruaño served as Chief Executive Officer and Chief Scientific Officer of Genaissance, which he founded in 1997 and led to a public offering in 2000 and to several R&D partnerships in the pharmaceutical industry. In his research career, he has developed systems for DNA-guided medicine based on genomics, nanoscience, and clinical informatics. He has pioneered physiogenomics based on haplotypes and multi-allele genotypes and nanoscience applications to the analysis of human environmental responses.
