ADHD Therapy & Medication Management in Augusta, GA

ADHD Therapy & Medication Management in Augusta, GA

Intro Paragraph

In Augusta, ADHD faces two major obstacles. The first is the persistent underdiagnosis of Black adults, with research consistently showing diagnosis rates significantly lower than their white peers despite similar or higher actual prevalence. The second is the military culture at Fort Eisenhower, where ADHD often goes unnoticed because high-stakes operational environments tend to hide it, and the stigma surrounding mental health diagnoses discourages service members from seeking evaluation. Meanwhile, untreated ADHD in either group causes real consequences: poor academic performance, job instability, strained relationships, and the mental drain of working harder than others just to produce the same results. Radiant Recovery offers ADHD therapy and medication management for Augusta adults and teens through telehealth across Georgia. Accepted by Georgia Medicaid. Appointments available within the week.

Who We Help

Black adults in Augusta with undiagnosed or undertreated ADHD

The diagnostic disparity is well-known: Black adults are less likely to be diagnosed, less likely to receive medication if diagnosed, and more likely to have their ADHD symptoms mistaken for behavioral issues or character flaws. At RRCS, our BIPOC clinicians perform evaluations with awareness of this pattern -- and with the clinical expertise to diagnose accurately in presentations that don't fit the historically narrow profile.

Veterans and military personnel with ADHD near Fort Eisenhower

ADHD is fairly common in military populations. High-intensity operational environments can mask ADHD symptoms during active service, and losing that structure during transition can suddenly make ADHD more impairing than before. We evaluate and treat veteran ADHD with respect for military culture and clinical rigor.

College students at Augusta University and Paine College

The transition to college -- unstructured time, self-directed study, competing demands -- frequently makes ADHD impairing for students who managed adequately in structured K-12 environments. We serve Augusta-area college students with ADHD therapy and medication evaluation.

Adults returning to ADHD care after a gap

If you've stopped treatment, had a negative medication experience, or were diagnosed in childhood but never followed up, we re-evaluate, update the clinical picture, and develop a current, appropriate treatment plan.

Our Treatment Approach

CBT for ADHD

Targeting executive function, procrastination, emotional dysregulation, and accumulated self-esteem damage. For veterans: adapted for a population that values directness and skill over open-ended processing. For college students: focused on academic executive function, study systems, and the specific demands of higher education.

Psychiatric Medication Management

Comprehensive evaluation by our Psych NP includes stimulant and non-stimulant options. CRITICAL: Georgia state regulations require an in-person evaluation for new patients receiving controlled substance prescriptions. Follow-up appointments may be conducted via telehealth. Coordination with your therapist is integrated into the care model.

Culturally Grounded Assessment

ADHD evaluation conducted with awareness of the documented racial disparities in diagnosis. Our clinicians assess ADHD accurately across presentations that have historically been misattributed or missed in Black clients.
