Trauma Therapy & PTSD Treatment in Gainesville, GA

Trauma in Gainesville's Latino community is both prevalent and profoundly undertreated. The traumas that produce immigration in the first place -- gang violence, cartel-related violence, domestic violence, political persecution in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, and Mexico -- are serious complex trauma presentations that did not resolve with the crossing. The crossing itself produces its own trauma: the physical danger, the exploitation by coyotes, the desert crossings, the detention. And the ongoing trauma of undocumented life in a country where enforcement posture has intensified -- the hypervigilance, the encounters with authority, the fear of separation from children -- produces a chronic traumatic stress burden that the research community has documented but that mental health systems in Hall County have not adequately addressed. Workplace trauma in the poultry processing industry -- serious injuries, amputations, and the witnessing of injuries -- produces acute and chronic PTSD that no existing local Spanish-language trauma treatment program addresses. Radiant Recovery provides Spanish-language trauma therapy and PTSD treatment for Gainesville residents via telehealth throughout Georgia. EMDR and CPT available. Georgia Medicaid accepted. Same-week appointments.

Who We Help

Latino adults with immigration and crossing trauma

The trauma of the immigration journey -- violence in home countries that necessitated departure, the physical and psychological dangers of the crossing, detention, and family separation -- is a serious complex trauma presentation that requires culturally competent, Spanish-language EMDR and CPT delivered by clinicians who understand the specific geography and political context of Central American and Mexican immigration. We provide this.

Poultry industry workers with occupational trauma

Serious workplace injuries in the poultry processing industry -- lacerations, amputations, and the witnessing of colleagues' injuries -- produce PTSD that occupational health programs do not address and that existing Hall County mental health resources have not been equipped to treat in Spanish. EMDR is highly effective for acute incident trauma and available via telehealth.

Domestic violence survivors in Gainesville's Latino community

DV in Gainesville's Latino community requires trauma-sensitive practice with specific awareness of the ways immigration status intersects with DV survivorship -- the fear that calling for help could result in enforcement involvement, the economic dependencies that undocumented status intensifies. Safety-first, client-agency-centered, Spanish-language trauma treatment. HIPAA-governed confidentiality.

Black Hall County residents with racial trauma

For Gainesville's Black community, racial trauma in a northeast Georgia county with its own history is a clinical presentation our BIPOC clinicians treat with depth.

Evidence-Based Trauma Therapies

Spanish-Language EMDR

APA, VA, and WHO endorsed. Effective for immigration trauma, crossing trauma, workplace trauma, and DV trauma. Does not require detailed verbal narration -- particularly valuable for clients whose trauma may be pre-verbal or for whom verbal narration in a clinical setting carries additional risk. Available via telehealth in Spanish.

Spanish-Language CPT

12-session protocol. Effective for DV survivors and adults processing immigration trauma where self-blame is central. Available in Spanish where provider capacity permits.

Safety-First DV Practice

For Gainesville's Latino DV survivors: safety planning that accounts for the immigration status intersection, confidentiality explained fully in Spanish, and client agency at the center of every clinical decision.
