Depression Therapy & Medication Management in Marietta, GA

Marietta is Cobb County's largest city and one of the Atlanta metro's most demographically complex suburbs -- a place where the Deep South's historical racial geography intersects with a rapidly diversifying present. The city is home to a significant and growing Black professional and middle-class community, to Kennesaw State University's nearly 45,000 students and its associated young adult population, to Latino families who have settled in the county's western corridors, and to a white population whose relationship to Marietta's Civil War and Confederate history adds a specific layer to the city's racial dynamics. Depression in Marietta reflects this complexity: the accumulated weight of navigating a city with deep racial history for its Black residents, the specific depression of a large university student population, and the full range of human mental health experience in one of Georgia's most populous and diverse counties. Radiant Recovery provides outpatient depression therapy and psychiatric medication management for Marietta residents via telehealth throughout Georgia. Georgia Medicaid accepted. Same-week appointments.

Who We Help

Black Cobb County residents and Marietta's growing Black professional community

Marietta's Black community navigates a city with a specific historical weight -- a county seat whose Confederate history is not past but present in monuments, names, and the institutional dynamics that history has produced. Depression rooted in this specific racial context, alongside the economic stress and limited healthcare access that affect Cobb County's Black communities disproportionately, is a clinical reality our BIPOC clinicians address with depth and without requiring explanation.

Kennesaw State University students and Marietta's young adult community

KSU's nearly 45,000 students -- many of them commuters navigating the financial and logistical demands of a large regional university -- experience the depression pressures common to college populations: first-generation student stress, financial anxiety, academic performance pressure, and the identity development challenges of young adulthood. We see KSU students within 24 to 48 hours when campus counseling waitlists extend into the semester.

Latino families in western Cobb County

Marietta and the surrounding western Cobb communities have a significant and growing Latino population. Depression in these communities is shaped by immigration stress, economic precarity, language barriers, and the specific isolation of communities whose presence is not always acknowledged by local institutions. We provide culturally grounded, Spanish-language accessible care for this population.

Adults navigating Marietta's rapid demographic and cultural change

Cobb County has changed faster in the past decade than almost any other Georgia county. For residents who have lived through that change -- across every demographic -- the social disruption, the changing neighborhood character, and the erosion of familiar community structures can produce depression that is both individual and communal. We treat the full range.

Conditions We Treat

  • Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)
  • Persistent Depressive Disorder (Dysthymia)
  • Racial Trauma-Related Depression
  • Academic and First-Generation Student Depression
  • Depression with Anxiety
  • Postpartum Depression
  • Economic and Acculturation-Related Depression
  • Bipolar Depression -- specialized psychiatric management

Our Treatment Approach

Culturally Grounded CBT

For Black Marietta clients: CBT that holds Cobb County's specific racial history and present-day dynamics as clinical content. For KSU students: targeting the perfectionism and imposter syndrome of first-generation and returning students. For Latino clients: culturally adapted approaches with Spanish-language access where available.

Contextually Informed Practice

Depression that is produced in part by real historical, racial, and economic stressors requires clinical approaches that acknowledge those stressors rather than treating depression as disconnected from its environment.

Psychiatric Medication Management

Our Psych NP provides comprehensive evaluation, evidence-based prescribing, and ongoing monitoring via telehealth for Marietta and all Georgia residents.
