Anxiety Therapy & Treatment in Savannah, GA
Intro Paragraph
Anxiety in Savannah has a unique quality. The city's beauty is genuine--the moss-covered squares, the marsh light, the elegant architecture--yet it coexists with a tourism-driven economy that compels workers to perform cheerfulness under financial strain, a creative community that confuses work-related anxiety with identity-related anxiety, and a Black majority population navigating a city whose institutions have not historically served their interests. These are distinct forms of anxiety, and they require different approaches. Radiant Recovery offers evidence-based anxiety therapy and medication management for Savannah residents via telehealth across Georgia. Accepted by Georgia Medicaid. Appointments available within the same week.
Who We Help
SCAD students managing creative and academic anxiety
Art school anxiety has a distinctive pattern. The critique culture in design and fine arts education -- where your work is publicly judged as an extension of your identity -- creates a form of social and performance anxiety that doesn't fit neatly into GAD or social anxiety disorder as textbooks describe them. The financial stress of art school debt combined with uncertain creative career prospects is real and clinically significant. We understand this specific landscape when treating SCAD students.
Black Savannah residents managing racial and systemic anxiety
Chatham County's Black community navigates a city whose tourist economy partly depends on their ancestors' labor and suffering -- and whose institutions still reflect racial inequality in access, outcomes, and representation. The ongoing threat monitoring this creates is a form of clinical anxiety that our BIPOC therapists understand instinctively.
Hospitality workers under chronic service-industry stress
Managing the emotional demands of high-volume tourist service work -- the forced pleasantness, the customer interactions that range from friendly to demeaning, the physical and psychological exhaustion of performing hospitality all day -- creates a specific anxiety profile. We observe service industry workers with practical scheduling flexibility and deep emotional resilience.
Adults with social anxiety in a highly social city
Savannah's identity as a social, tourism-centered city can be particularly challenging for adults with social anxiety. The city's culture of constant social performance -- whether at work, festivals, or its well-known outdoor bar scene -- causes real daily difficulties for those with social anxiety disorder.

Our Treatment Approach
CBT for Anxiety
Structured and evidence-based. For creative anxiety: addressing the fusion of identity and work and the tendency to catastrophize specific to art school culture. For racial anxiety: incorporating the systemic stress context rather than viewing the anxiety as detached from its root causes.
ACT for Anxiety
Especially helpful for SCAD students and creative professionals whose anxiety relates to core values about their work and identity. ACT develops the psychological flexibility needed to continue creative efforts even when experiencing anxiety.
Medication Management
SSRIs, SNRIs, and buspirone are available when clinically indicated. A full evaluation will be conducted by our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner via telehealth. We do not prescribe benzodiazepines for ongoing management.
