Depression Therapy & Medication Management in Bloomington, MN

Depression Therapy & Medication Management in Bloomington, MN

Intro Paragraph

Bloomington is located at the southern edge of the Minneapolis metro area. It presents two faces: one to the world, viewed through the Mall of America and the airport corridor, and another within its neighborhoods, where a quietly diverse population faces a wide range of mental health challenges. The city's workforce is large and international, attracted by major corporate employers and the hospitality industry. Its residential areas include long-established families, recent immigrants, and many adults who commute daily into Minneapolis while building their lives in the south metro. Depression affects people from all directions here: the executive overwhelmed in Bloomington's corporate parks, the immigrant hotel worker whose support system is across an ocean, and the parent managing the invisible strain of a high-functioning depressive episode while keeping everyday life on track. Radiant Recovery offers outpatient depression therapy and psychiatric medication management for Bloomington adults via telehealth across Minnesota and in person at our Minneapolis office. We accept Minnesota Medicaid. Same-week appointments.

Who We Help

Bloomington's diverse workforce and corporate community

Bloomington hosts significant corporate operations, ranging from technology and finance to logistics and hospitality. Depression in professional and corporate settings in the south metro often appears as high-functioning: visible productivity conceals ongoing low mood, anhedonia, and the deep fatigue of maintaining performance while feeling numb. We address depression in working professionals with clinical expertise and practical scheduling accommodations.

Immigrant and multilingual communities in South Bloomington

Bloomington's hospitality and airport economy attracts workers from around the world, including sizable communities from East Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia. Depression within these communities is influenced by immigration stress, separation from family networks, the economic instability of service jobs, and the cultural stigma around seeking help. Our multilingual, culturally sensitive clinicians serve this population.

Adults managing depression after major life transitions

Divorce, job loss, empty nest, retirement, and relocation--major transitions that occur in midlife and beyond--disrupt identity and purpose, often leading to depressive episodes. We observe adults managing these changes with clinical insight and genuine warmth.

Adults with treatment-resistant or chronic depression

If previous depression treatment hasn't led to the expected improvement--whether from medication, therapy, or both--there may be underlying clinical reasons: incorrect approach, insufficient dosage, poor therapeutic fit, unaddressed trauma, or an underlying mood spectrum condition. We reassess thoroughly and create a new plan.

Conditions We Treat

- Major Depressive Disorder (MDD)

- Persistent Depressive Disorder (Dysthymia)

- Depression following major life transitions -- divorce, job loss, retirement, relocation

- Postpartum Depression

- Depression with Anxiety -- most common co-occurring presentation

- Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) -- highly prevalent in the Minnesota metro

- High-Functioning Depression -- productive externally, depleted internally

- Bipolar Depression -- specialized psychiatric medication management

Our Treatment Approach

CBT for Depression

Structured, evidence-based, and tailored to the specific presentation. For high-functioning depression: addressing the cognitive patterns of perfectionism, overresponsibility, and emotional suppression that maintain depression in high-performing adults. For life-transition depression: focusing on identity reconstruction and meaning-making alongside symptom reduction.

Behavioral Activation

Systematically reintroducing rewarding activity and reducing avoidance. Particularly effective for the anhedonia -- the inability to feel pleasure -- that is often the most disabling feature of depression in otherwise functional adults.

Psychiatric Medication Management

Our Psych NP provides comprehensive evaluation, evidence-based antidepressant prescribing, ongoing monitoring, and direct coordination with your therapist. Available via telehealth for Bloomington and all Minnesota residents.

Insurance Accepted in Bloomington

Minnesota Medicaid (MA, MinnesotaCare, UCare, Hennepin Health, Blue Plus, HealthPartners Medicaid), Medicare, Blue Cross Blue Shield MN, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, and Medica. Benefits are verified before your first appointment.
