Grief Counseling & Bereavement Therapy in Eagan, MN

Grief Counseling & Bereavement Therapy in Eagan, MN

Intro Paragraph

Grief in Eagan reflects the city's role as a community in transition -- growing, diversifying, and carrying the mourning traditions of many different groups within the same area. For Eagan's East African families, grief is often transnational -- mourning someone in Somalia, Ethiopia, or Eritrea from a home in Dakota County, without the community support those traditions require, with Islamic mourning obligations that can only be partially observed in diaspora. For the airport and logistics workforce, the grief from workplace accidents and sudden occupational deaths is a real and often unacknowledged part of high-risk jobs. For Eagan's general suburban residents, grief shares the same isolation pattern seen elsewhere: the bereavement leave ends, casseroles stop, the suburb's routines resume, and the grief remains private. Radiant Recovery offers grief counseling for Eagan residents via telehealth across Minnesota. Accepted by Minnesota Medicaid. Same-week appointments.

Who We Help

East African and Somali families in Eagan are grieving across borders

For Eagan's East African community, mourning someone who died in their home country--without the ability to travel and surrounded by a Minnesota suburb that may not fully understand the significance of their grief--is a specific clinical situation that our clinicians approach with cultural sensitivity. Islamic mourning traditions are integrated into the clinical process, not treated as just an addition.

Airport and logistics workers grieving occupational loss

Sudden death and serious injuries in the airport and logistics corridor generate grief with traumatic effects that the occupational culture often fails to recognize. We offer grief support for workers who lose colleagues in workplace accidents -- a type of grief that is frequently disenfranchised in work environments.

Families navigating sudden or traumatic loss

Sudden death -- medical emergency, accident, violence -- produces grief with traumatic dimensions that require integrated trauma and grief treatment. EMDR available for traumatic bereavement.

Adults with prolonged or complicated grief

Prolonged Grief Disorder -- grief persisting beyond 12 months with significant functional impairment -- responds to Complicated Grief Treatment (CGT) available via telehealth.

Our Treatment Approach

Culturally Grounded Grief Therapy

For East African clients: respecting Islamic mourning traditions with genuine knowledge--understanding the specific rituals, timelines, and community obligations--and providing clinical support that aligns with these frameworks. For all clients: avoiding imposed timelines and Western secular frameworks that overlook the traditions through which clients actually grieve.

Dual Process Model

Evidence-based. Oscillation between confronting loss and adjusting forward. At the client's pace.

CGT for Prolonged Grief

For Prolonged Grief Disorder. Evidence-based protocol. Available via telehealth.
