ADHD Therapy & Medication Management in Minneapolis, MN

ADHD Therapy & Medication Management in Minneapolis, MN

Intro Paragraph

You are not lazy. You are not irresponsible. You have not simply failed to apply for yourself. If you have spent your life hearing these things while privately experiencing a brain that functions differently -- losing focus, starting ten tasks and finishing only three, struggling to stay attentive when it matters most but hyper focusing on everything else -- it is worth exploring whether ADHD is part of the picture. Adult ADHD is often underdiagnosed, especially in women, BIPOC adults, and those who developed strong coping strategies that masked symptoms in childhood. Radiant Recovery offers ADHD therapy and psychiatric medication management in Minneapolis for adults and teens, with clinicians experienced in ADHD presentations across diverse cultural and demographic backgrounds.

Who We Help

Adults are newly questioning whether they have ADHD

Many adults receive an ADHD evaluation in their 30s, 40s, or 50s, often after their child's diagnosis or following years of being high achieving yet feeling chronically exhausted by the effort needed to sustain it. Late diagnosis is common and does not lessen the condition's validity.

Black adults with undiagnosed ADHD

Research shows that Black children are underdiagnosed with ADHD compared to white peers. Black adults bear the cumulative effects of years without proper support. Our clinicians are trained to recognize ADHD presentations that don't fit the stereotypical profile.

Teens and young adults in the Twin Cities

ADHD therapy and medication assessment for teens aged 13 and older, with suitable parental involvement and MN-compliant consent procedures according to MN Statute 144.341.

Adults with co-occurring anxiety or depression

ADHD, anxiety, and depression frequently co-occur. Treatment must address the full clinical picture, not just ADHD in isolation.

ADHD Presentations We Treat

- ADHD, Predominantly Inattentive Presentation (formerly ADD)

- ADHD, Predominantly Hyperactive-Impulsive Presentation

- ADHD, Combined Presentation

- Adult ADHD -- late diagnosis and re-evaluation

- Adolescent ADHD (ages 13-17)

- ADHD with co-occurring anxiety or depression

- ADHD with executive function deficits as primary presenting concern

Our Treatment Approach

CBT for ADHD

Specifically designed for ADHD, this program emphasizes building executive function skills, overcoming procrastination, managing time, regulating emotions, and addressing negative self-beliefs that develop from years of struggle. It is practical, structured, and tailored to how the ADHD brain truly learns.

Psychiatric Medication Management

Stimulant medications (methylphenidate and amphetamine-based) are the most evidence-supported pharmacological treatments. Non-stimulant alternatives (atomoxetine, guanfacine, bupropion) are available for clients for whom stimulants are contraindicated. Careful titration with built-in follow-up.

Coordination Between Therapy and Medication

Your therapist and Psych NP communicate directly. Behavioral strategies and medication are integrated into a unified treatment plan, not functioning separately.

Insurance Accepted in Minneapolis

Minnesota Medicaid (MA, MinnesotaCare, UCare, Hennepin Health, Blue Plus, HealthPartners Medicaid), Medicare, BCBS MN, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare are accepted. ADHD evaluation and medication management are covered under qualifying plans.
