Trauma Therapy & PTSD Treatment in Woodbury, MN

Trauma Therapy & PTSD Treatment in Woodbury, MN

Intro Paragraph

Trauma in Woodbury is not immediately apparent amid the city's well-maintained neighborhoods and high-quality schools. However, it exists. Domestic violence in affluent East Metro suburbs is documented and often underreported. The South Asian and East Asian professional families who have moved to Woodbury carry histories of immigration, family trauma, and community-specific wounds from experiences with discrimination that the suburb's outward appearance does not reveal. The Black families who relocated east from Saint Paul carry the ongoing trauma of a city that faced a national racial crisis--and the challenge of processing that trauma in relative isolation from the community that shares it. Radiant Recovery provides trauma therapy and PTSD treatment for Woodbury residents via telehealth across Minnesota. EMDR and CPT are available. We accept Minnesota Medicaid. Appointments are scheduled within the same week.

Who We Help

Domestic violence survivors in the east metro suburbs

Intimate partner violence in Woodbury and Washington County is documented but often underreported -- the suburban affluence makes concealment easier and disclosure more difficult. The complex PTSD resulting from DV -- hyperarousal, shame, avoidance, trauma bonding, and the grief over a relationship that turned unsafe -- requires trauma-sensitive clinical practices that prioritize safety and agency at all times. We provide this.

South Asian and East Asian adults with family and immigration trauma

For Woodbury's South Asian and East Asian communities, trauma can stem from immigration histories, coercive family dynamics, and the unique psychological wounds of dealing with intense performance pressure and conditional acceptance. These are genuine clinical issues that require culturally sensitive trauma care.

Black East Metro residents are processing racial trauma

For Black Woodbury residents who have experienced both racial trauma events in the Twin Cities and the specific challenges of being a minority in a predominantly white suburb, racial trauma requires a clinician who understands both aspects without forcing the client to choose which is more valid.

First responders and emergency workers in Washington County

Washington County's fire, law enforcement, and EMS personnel face occupational and vicarious trauma throughout their careers. We provide confidential trauma care for first responders.

CPT

12-session protocol. Effective for DV survivors and adults processing the stuck beliefs and self-blame that the family system and immigration trauma produce.

Trauma-Informed Cultural Adaptation

For South Asian and East Asian clients: trauma treatment that respects cultural and family contexts without pathologizing cultural practices. For Black suburban clients: trauma treatment that recognizes both personal and racial aspects equally.
